Editorial Standards
Trust is the whole
masthead.
His & Hers Media exists to celebrate live performance and champion the artists behind it. These are the editorial standards that guide every review, interview and feature we publish — the promises we make to our readers and to the artists whose work we cover.
01
Independent reviews, always
Our reviews are written independently. Complimentary tickets, press invitations or media access never guarantee positive coverage, and no producer, publicist or partner has editorial approval over what we publish.
02
Sponsored content is disclosed
When a piece of content is sponsored, partnered or paid, it is clearly labelled at the top of the article. Editorial reviews and sponsored features are never blended.
03
Respectful and constructive
We write honestly, but never cruelly. Criticism is offered with care, in service of the work and the artists who made it. We do not review to wound.
04
Artists treated with dignity
Performers, creatives and companies are treated with the professional respect they extend to us. Interview subjects are approached in good faith and quoted accurately.
05
Corrections openly published
If we make a factual error we correct it promptly and note the update within the article. Accuracy matters more than being first.
06
Written by people who've lived it
Paula and Clay have stood under the lights themselves. Every review is grounded in the discipline, craft and vulnerability of professional performance.
Concerns or Corrections
“If we get something wrong, we want to hear from you.”
Factual concerns, corrections requests and questions about our coverage are welcomed and answered directly by the editors.
